Menu Setbacks

I was really high on the idea of using a map of Times Square as my Yo! Sushi menu, however I've run into a couple of problems with this concept. Finding a map of Times Square online is a LOT harder than I thought it would be, at least a high-res version, which basically makes this idea a little more than impossible. Instead, I've decided to use a similar concept, but whether or not it will be as effective has yet to be seen. My new idea is to feature the same gimmick as I would have on my "map menu". This will include having one side of the menu with a tour route of New York & it's landmarks (i.e what to do & where to go first to last.) On the reverse side will be a Yo! Sushi menu, featuring some of Yo! Sushi's most popular dishes, with a reccomended "route" (i.e starter, main course, dessert & drinks.) I think this could work just as well as the map idea, so let the visualisation commence...

Mural Update

I know these posts are a little mix & match, in no particular order, but it's been a while since I posted an update on my mural. It's changed quite a bit since I last posted anything about it. I've extended the length, to feature more imagery & I have also applied the stained, grungey effect to the entire mural. I've done this to liven it up a little & also because I liked how the effect looked on my Yo! Sushi coupons in my direct mail, that was unintentional because the effect was originally put in place to make the newspaper look a little more realistic, which carried over onto the images & coupons featured on the page, which I thought looked quite nice & is probably something I'll carry on in my direct mail, menus etc. I've applied it so that it doesn't look too over the top & is subtle enough not to take anything away from the mural itself. It doesn't necessarily reflect the existing Yo! Sushi brands look, but isn't that the point?...

Direct Mail: Continued...

To expand on my Direct Mail package, I have created a second page of my "New York Times" Yo! Sushi issue. This page elaborates on the cover story, providing reasons for low attendance numbers at the Yankees game, exaggerating opening day statistics, interviews etc. I have also included coupons to cut out & redeem in the Yo! NY branch. The article I have written also acknowledges how a Yo! Sushi take-out menu is provided with the newspaper, for those who don't wish to trek into Times Square, they can have dishes delivered to their door. I'm currently stuck as to how to create additional pages for the newspaper, although I am sure I will be able to come up with many more direct mail ideas.
